Reconciliation Between Ousman Jallow and Binta Jawo – A Call for Unity.

On the evening of Monday, 23rd June 2025, a remarkable step toward fostering national harmony was taken as Ousman Jallow, founder of the No to Tribalism, Racism and Discrimination (NTRD) movement, and Binta Jawo, founder of the Fulbe Journalists Association, reconciled in the spirit of unity, peace, and nationhood.

This reconciliation followed a meaningful hour of dialogue, mediated by respected community members Biggi Bah and Bakary Bah, whose efforts in facilitating mutual understanding were instrumental and deeply appreciated.

As proud sons and daughters of The Gambia, we affirm that we are one people, one nation, and one blood. This renewed spirit of togetherness serves as a powerful reminder that dialogue is stronger than division, and unity is more powerful than tribalism.

In a historic gesture of goodwill, the Fulbe Journalists Association has now been renamed “Kawral Saaktooɓe Kibaaruuji,” meaning “Togetherness of News Expanders.” This new identity reflects our collective values of inclusion, national unity, and professional solidarity—beyond all tribal boundaries.

I, Ousman Jallow, call on all Gambians to stop the insults, stop the hate, and stop tribal divisions. Let us honor our diversity and celebrate our shared identity.

Ms. Jawo has clearly confirmed to Mr. Jallow that the group was never intended to promote tribalism and will never be used for any tribal agenda.

The No to Tribalism, Racism and Discrimination movement will continue its mission of promoting peace and combating tribal actions in all forms.

Together, let us build a peaceful, inclusive, and dignified Gambia—where every tribe, every voice, and every citizen matters.
