President Barrow tours OIC roads project sites in the Greater Banjul Area.

In his commitment to ensuring the contractors deliver on their promises, His Excellency President Adama Barrow embarked on a day-long inspection tour of OIC road projects in Greater Banjul and the West Coast Region, to assess the progress of ongoing works. The tour commenced with an inspection of the Bundung P15 Lot1, spanning 2.7 kilometres.

Accompanied by senior government officials, including the Chief of Staff (Office of The President), Secretary to Cabinet, and Ministers from various ministries, the delegation subsequently proceeded to Sukuta, Brusubi, Wulinkama, Brufut and Bakoteh.

During his visit, the President took the opportunity to engage with communities and address concerns regarding the state of some roads and water supply. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the communities while assuring that the government is taking steps to promptly increase the water supply.

Moreover, the Barrow administration is taking measures to address the situation of street lighting and drainage systems in various communities to prevent flooding.

At the end of the tour, President Barrow expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects, noting the significant improvements made. He also assured traffic initiatives would be implemented to enhance road safety and promote efficient traffic management.

The inspection tour underscores the government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and fostering development in Greater Banjul.
