Osun Senator, Francis Fadahunsi, quits PDP

The Senator representing Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The senator announced his resignation from the former ruling party in a letter dated June 12, 2025, and addressed to the chairman of the party in Ward 4, Obokun Local Government Area of the state.

In the letter made available to journalists on Saturday in Osogbo, Fadahunsi said he resigned from the PDP due to irreconcilable differences in the party since the 2023 general elections.

The lawmaker is the third prominent member to quit the PDP in the last four days.

The duo of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, dumped the party during the week.

The letter read: “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedevilled the party at the national level after the 2023 general elections.

“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family, and friends.

“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.”
