Sainey Nyassi tucked home the winning penalty to send Sibanor United into the Gambia Football Federation second division league for the first time after a 4-2 victory over Ali Sowe FC, the Banjul champions.
Saturday 26th of July 2025 will go into the history books as a red letter day for these players, coach Ebrima Camara, his technical team and every Sibanor United fan.
This team won the West Coast regional league and became the first team from Foni to play in the second division.
Foni is a region full of talent, as it has shined bright again today in Basori. This is a victory that both men and women, young and old, should celebrate, as it further strengthens the rapid rise and success of football in FONI.
