Nigerian govt declares Tuesday as public holiday for Buhari

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday as public holiday in honour of late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari, 82, died on Sunday in a London hospital, following a prolonged illness.

The former Nigerian leader will be buried on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State.

Buhari was Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023.

He was also the country’s Head of State from December 31, 1983 to August 27, 1985.
