Multihyphenate entertainer and prolific father Nick Cannon has been candid about the unusual time in 2022 when he had five children in a single year with five different women, admitting that the eventuality was “probably careless activity.”
Nick Cannon, who was previously married to Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah Carey, made the admission in an interview with Vulture, and his revelation coincides with continued public interest in and scrutiny of his sizable blended family.
His twelve offspring, according to Nick Cannon, were a “by-product of his eagerness to appease the women he was dating or his single friends who wanted kids.”

The actor spoke about fathering five of his children in a single year—2022. “It was also a little bit of, like, ‘Okay, God, how did I have five kids in one year?’ Probably careless activity,” he admitted.
Nick acknowledged in the interview that he doesn’t currently have any intentions to have any more children, but he wouldn’t rule it out. “We live in a weird world. “‘Never,’ I never say,” he said.
Despite the challenges of managing a large family, Cannon insists that his children have access to opportunities, resources, and love. While he admits that “quality time” is the one thing he doesn’t have an abundance of, he asserts he is “doing my best” and hopes the advantages he provides can help lift them up.
