Niamina Upper and Senior Secondary School (Niamina USSS) kicked off its 2024 Inter-House Athletic Competition with a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and outstanding athletic performances. Day One of the event set a high standard as athletes from the four competing houses showcased their determination and talent on the track, captivating the spectators.
Speaking to New Global Media, the school’s principal, Mr. Lamin Faal, expressed his delight over the success of the opening day. He highlighted the significance of such competitions in promoting camaraderie, discipline, and the holistic development of students.
“We are very pleased with how the event has started. The athletes have worked hard, and it shows on the track. This competition is not only about winning but also about building teamwork and discipline,” Mr. Faal remarked.
Day One Standings
The first day of competition featured a variety of track and field events that tested the skills and endurance of participants. The standings after Day One were as follows:
Blue House: 416 points – 1st place
Green House: 336 points – 2nd place
Red House: 330 points – 3rd place
Yellow House: 304 points – 4th place
Blue House surged ahead with a remarkable display of athleticism and team spirit, securing the top spot. Green House and Red House followed closely, showing fierce competition, while Yellow House remained determined and optimistic for upcoming events.
The excitement is far from over, as Day Two promises even more exhilarating events. The principal encouraged continued support and engagement from the school community and well-wishers.
