The North Bank Region Football Association (NBRFA) has announced a landmark partnership with Africell, The Gambia’s leading telecommunications provider, naming the company as the Official Partner of the 2025 NBRFA Zonal Championship.

The Executive Committee of NBRFA described the collaboration as a major boost for grassroots football in the region, highlighting its potential to merge passion, talent, and opportunity on a bigger stage.

“This partnership demonstrates a bold commitment to empowering young athletes and elevating regional football to national prominence. With Africell’s support, the 2025 Zonals will be organized to the highest standards of professionalism, fair play, and excitement. Fans can expect thrilling matches, electric atmospheres, and celebrations that unite every host community in the North Bank Region,” NBRFA said in a statement.

The association also emphasized that Africell’s involvement will bring technology closer to the sport. Supporters will benefit from exclusive behind-the-scenes content, real-time match updates, player interviews, and interactive fan experiences through Africell’s network and digital platforms, ensuring that no goal, save, or memorable moment is missed.

“This partnership reflects Africell’s ongoing commitment to connecting communities and empowering the game,” the statement added.

NBRFA concluded that the collaboration signals a promising future for the association, combining talent, technology, and community engagement to strengthen football in the North Bank Region.

GFF to Launch CAF C-License Coaching Course

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has announced the launch of a CAF C-License coaching course for aspiring football coaches, set to begin on Monday.

According to the Federation, the program is designed to equip participants with advanced coaching skills and modern methodologies essential for success in today’s football landscape.

“It will also be an exceptional opportunity for new trainees to enhance their tactical knowledge, improve player development strategies, and earn a globally recognized certification,” GFF stated.

The initiative builds on GFF’s earlier efforts, which saw a number of grassroots coaches earn the CAF D-License coaching certification. With the C-License program, the Federation aims to further strengthen the quality of football coaching across the country and promote professional growth among local coaches.

This move is part of GFF’s broader strategy to elevate football standards in The Gambia, nurturing homegrown talent while aligning with continental coaching standards set by CAF.
