Gambian international Musa Barrow is set to undergo surgery after sustaining a knee injury while playing for his Saudi Arabian club, Al-Taawoun FC, during their match against Damac.
The club confirmed that Barrow underwent a series of medical examinations, which revealed a partial tear in the lateral collateral ligament of his knee, necessitating surgical intervention. Following initial assessments, the player underwent further tests at Qatar’s Aspetar Hospital to evaluate the extent of the injury.
To ensure a precise diagnosis, medical reports were also sent to a specialised centre in Italy for confirmation and a final medical recommendation. Based on the findings, Barrow is scheduled to undergo surgery next Thursday, which will be performed by renowned surgeon Alan Getgood at Aspetar Hospital.
The club noted that the full duration of treatment and the rehabilitation program will be determined following the surgery.
Al-Taawoun FC expressed confidence in Barrow’s recovery and reiterated its support for the player during the forthcoming rehabilitation period.
