Mobile Traffic Unit launches ” Operation No Compromise” Nationwide

The Mobile Traffic Unit of the Gambia Police Force on Thursday, March 5, 2026, launched a nationwide enforcement exercise dubbed “Operation No Compromise” targeting traffic violations, including vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses, expired road tax, and missing number plates.

During the operation, a total of 362 vehicles and 18 motorcycles were intercepted for various traffic-related offences. These included 233 motor vehicles without official number plates, 107 vehicles with tinted glasses without proper clearance, and 22 vehicles operating without valid 2025 road tax.

Owners of the intercepted vehicles were directed to regularize their documentation. A significant number complied and were subsequently released after meeting the required legal conditions.

The Gambia Police Force reminds all motorists that compliance with traffic regulations is mandatory and essential for public safety.

The operation continues tomorrow as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen road safety and ensure full compliance with traffic laws nationwide.
