McKinstry to Name Squad Ahead of Kuwait Friendly

By: Kemo Kanyi

Head coach of The Gambia’s Senior Scorpions, Jonathan McKinstry, is expected to announce his squad for the upcoming international friendly against Kuwait on Wednesday evening.

The friendly encounter, scheduled to take place in Egypt on November 18, forms part of the team’s ongoing preparations and development program.

According to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Coach McKinstry will also engage the media ahead of the announcement to provide deeper insight into his player selections and team strategy.

“Jonathan McKinstry will host a dedicated coffee meeting with members of the press on Saturday, November 8, between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM at the Seaview Gardens Hotel,” the GFF said in a statement. “During this interactive session, the Head Coach will provide comprehensive insights into various aspects of the team’s composition and preparation.”

Since his appointment, McKinstry has overseen several matches that, while falling short of World Cup qualification, showcased moments of promise and strong performances from the Scorpions.

The upcoming friendly against Kuwait is seen as another opportunity for the coach to fine-tune his squad and assess new talents as The Gambia continues to build towards future international competitions.
