MC Cham Jr Defends His Record, Says UDP Did Not “Make” Him

 

“Let me be clear: I was never nominated by UDP. My nomination came directly from the Mayor, even before I officially joined UDP. If I had wanted “opportunities,” I had the chance to join the ruling party and secure positions and benefits, but I refused because I believe in principles, not positions.

The truth is, UDP did not “make” me. Long before joining, I was already a politician, expelled from APRC, a founding member of GDC, and a national figure in the political space. When I joined UDP, I did not come as a refugee; I came as someone who contributed. I defended the party on TV and radio, I served in campaign and organising committees, and I even sacrificed part of my salary monthly to support UDP.

So let’s stop pretending that I was carried on anyone’s back. My record shows service, sacrifice, and conviction. Politics should be about truth, not distortions.”
