Former President Muhammadu Buhari has been confirmed dead in a United Kingdom hospital.
His death was confirmed by his former spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, on Sunday afternoon.
According to Shehu, Buhari died on Sunday at a hospital in the United Kingdom.
Shehu’s statement read: “The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
“May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus.”
Further details surrounding his death are yet to be disclosed.
It will be recalled that Vice President Kashim Shettima had reportedly visited the former President in the London hospital where he was receiving medical attention.
