Janjanbureh Forestry Department Donates 200 Trees to Kumbaney Village Development Association

 

In a significant move towards environmental preservation, the Janjanbureh Forestry Department has donated 200 tree seedlings to the Kumbaney Village Development Association in Niamina West District. This donation aims to boost reforestation efforts and enhance the district’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Speaking to The New Global Media, Edrisa Jawo, spokesperson for the Kumbaney Village Development Association, expressed profound gratitude to the Forestry Department for its timely contribution. Jawo emphasized the importance of protecting the environment, stating, “We are deeply thankful to the Janjanbureh Forestry Department. It is now our responsibility to guard these trees jealously and ensure they grow to help preserve our environment.”

Ebrima Manneh, the president of the association, echoed Jawo’s sentiments, encouraging members of the association and the community to take the tree planting initiative seriously. “This collaboration is a testament to the ongoing partnership between the village and the Forestry Department. We hope this is just the beginning of continuous efforts towards the development of our district,” Manneh said.

The members of the association actively participated in planting the trees, symbolizing a shared commitment to ensuring the success of this initiative. Both parties expressed optimism for further collaborations in the future, all aimed at advancing environmental development in the district.
