The Israeli military on Tuesday announced it had carried out fresh airstrikes against what it described as Hezbollah terror infrastructure in eastern Lebanon, targeting sites linked to the group’s elite Radwan force.
“Moments ago, Israeli Air Force fighter jets… began numerous strikes toward Hezbollah terror targets in the area of Beqaa, Lebanon,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.
According to the military, the strikes hit compounds used by Hezbollah “for training and exercising terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against [Israeli] troops and the State of Israel.”
The IDF said the latest operation follows a September 2024 mission in which it “eliminated” senior commanders of the Radwan force in Beirut and southern Lebanon. However, the army claimed the elite unit has since been working to “reestablish its capabilities.”
“The storage of weapons and the activities of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation at these sites constitute a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and constitute a future threat to the State of Israel,” the military added.

Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November aimed at ending more than a year of escalating tensions between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group, hostilities have continued intermittently.
The ceasefire required Hezbollah to redeploy its fighters north of the Litani River—approximately 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the Israeli border—while Israeli forces were expected to withdraw from Lebanese territory. However, Israel has maintained a military presence in five areas it considers strategically vital.
Tuesday’s strikes underscore the fragile nature of the truce, which followed two months of intense cross-border conflict that left Hezbollah significantly weakened, according to Israeli assessments.
