Oustas Lamin Mbye, an Islamic teacher and Imam in Serrekunda told women at a gathering that it’s against Islamic principles to wear makeup when coming to mosque for prayers.
He urged to them wear Make clothes that are long, loose, and truly cover your shape their bodies.
“I am sorry to be forced to make this announcement. But sisters, please, if you come to the masjid for prayers, don’t wear makeup or perfume. Many men have been coming to me to complain about this issue. I feel genuinely shocked.”

“To reveal our beauty and to enhance it with makeup, perfume, and pretty clothes is good and natural at home with our families.”
He said Islam recommends women to properly cover their hair at all times not only at the mosque.
He clarified that Islam considers it as “hypocrisy” to wear a hijab inside the masjid if you don’t yet wear it outside in other places.
