The GFF Beach Soccer 2024 finals featured an end-to-end match between Gunjur Dabanani FC and Kunkujang Friends FC. After a fiercely contested game that ended in a thrilling 6-6 draw, the match proceeded to a dramatic post penalty shootout.
In an electrifying atmosphere filled with excitement, Gunjur emerged victorious with a 6-5 win in the penalty shootout, claiming the 2024 championship title.
The event was presided over by GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo, Chairman of the Beach Soccer Committee Abou Khan, General Secretary Lamin M. Jassey, and other executive members, alongside Mr. Abdoulie Ceesay, Director of Competitions for WAFU Zone A. The match attracted hundreds of spectators eager to witness the intense showdown on the sandy pitch at Palma Rima.
As champions, Gunjur received a giant trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of D75,000 (seventy-five thousand dalasi). Kunkujang Friends, as runners-up, were awarded D50,000 (fifty thousand dalasi) and silver medals. Steve Biko and Tujereng, who finished in third and fourth place, respectively, each received D30,000 (thirty thousand dalasi) and D20,000 (twenty thousand dalasi).
