The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election,, Omoyele Sowore, has once again distanced himself from the emerging opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The activist expressed concerns about the character and past conduct of people behind the coalition.
Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Sowore condemned the coalition’s composition, stating that many of its leading figures have been complicit in what he described as injustice and corruption against the Nigerian people.
“There are just too many people in the coalition that I can’t even sit across the table from,” Sowore said.
“Personally, I would be tempted to act out of character if I did. These are individuals who have done Nigerians dirty, who have committed acts that can only be described as evil.”

He pointed out that members of the coalition lack conscience, character, and credibility, insisting that no political alliance can be built on such a foundation.
“There is no amount of conditions that can make them change their ways,” he added.
“These are people whose track record includes corruption, selfishness, and a blatant disregard for the public good. Their conduct is not something you can overlook or rehabilitate with mere political promises.”
