The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of Banjul by donating six additional tricycles and essential cleaning materials as part of its ongoing support for waste management. This latest contribution brings the total donation to twelve tricycles, sixteen wheelbarrows, thirty shovels, twenty rakes, sixteen watering cans, and two hundred brooms.
The initiative aligns with GPA’s continued collaboration with the Banjul City Council (BCC) under the Keep the City Safe and Clean project. Given the port’s strategic location in Banjul, the Authority recognizes the importance of actively contributing to initiatives that enhance the city’s sanitation and overall environment.
Deputy Mayor Gaye, along with BCC Commissioners, received the items and expressed appreciation for GPA’s ongoing partnership and generosity. The donation will significantly improve waste collection efficiency, ensuring that no part of our city is left behind in the mission for cleanliness. “A cleaner Banjul means a healthier environment, increased tourism, and a stronger local economy. With committed partners like the Gambia Ports Authority, we are confident that Banjul will continue to thrive,” Deputy Mayor Gaye stated.
GPA remains dedicated to fostering sustainable development and community well-being through strategic partnerships and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
