Gambia Immigration Department began training on Hostmanship

The Netherlands Embassy is set to conduct a 5-day Hostmanship training for immigration personnel at Banjul International Airport, marking the third phase of this initiative that began last year.

The primary objective of the training is to enhance customer service skills and hospitality among immigration officers and related personnel. It aims to promote positive and respectful interactions with immigrants, travelers, and visitors, particularly those who are vulnerable or physically challenged.

“Since the inception of this program, I am proud to report significant improvements in service delivery at the Banjul International Airport. Staff attitudes, operational efficiency, and the art of making passengers feel welcome have greatly enhanced our professionalism and bolstered our reputation.” Said Ebrima Mboob Director General, Gambia Immigration.

Mr. Mboob underscored the importance of providing capacity training in hospitality, noting that The Gambia is renowned for its welcoming nature. He urged participants to grasp the essential knowledge required and engage fully throughout the training .
