From Falcons to Tunisia: Bakary Touray Joins Jeunesse Sportive Kairounaise JSK on 3-Year Deal

By Baboucarr Fallaboweh

Bakary Touray, one of the most exciting young midfielders in Gambian football, has completed a move from Falcons FC to – Jeunesse Sportive Kairounaise JSK in Tunisia, signing a three-year contract that marks a major leap in his professional career.

The 20-year-old box-to-box midfielder has played a crucial role in Falcons FC’s incredible rise. He was part of the squad that helped the team gain promotion to the Gambia First Division and has since been a driving force in keeping Falcons consistently in the league’s top three.

From Kafuta to Tunisia
Touray hails from Kafuta, a town increasingly known for producing top-tier talent in Kombo East. With this move, he becomes the third player from Kafuta to go pro abroad in recent years, joining Ousman Kuiabie (formerly of Real de Banjul) and Omar Sonko (formerly of TMT) — both of whom also left the Gambian topflight for international opportunities.

Kafuta is quickly building a reputation as a football factory, and Touray’s journey further strengthens that image.

Goals, Assists, and Commanding the Midfield
Touray is more than just a workhorse in midfield. Alongside his energy, tactical intelligence, and defensive reliability, he has consistently contributed goals and assists from deep. His late runs into the box, eye for a pass, and ability to shoot from distance have made him a key attacking outlet for Falcons.

Over the past few seasons, he’s quietly built a reputation for being a complete midfielder — one who can win the ball, drive forward, and make decisive contributions in the final third.

His performances also earned him a place in the Gambia U20 national team, where he continued to show maturity beyond his years and adaptability on the international stage.

Looking Ahead

Now at Jeunesse Sportive Kairounaise -JSK , Touray is ready for the next challenge in Tunisia’s Pro league. The move is not just a personal achievement, but a proud moment for Falcons FC, Kafuta, and Gambian football as a whole.

With his talent, determination, and track record of stepping up at every level, Bakary Touray’s future looks bright — and this move may just be the beginning of even bigger things to come.
