The National Assembly will on Friday, 5 December, receive the 2026 Appropriation Bill, as the Finance and Economic Affairs Minister prepares to deliver the annual Budget Speech for the 2025 Legislative Year.
In a notice issued by the Office of the Clerk, the ministry’s presentation is being brought in line with Section 152 of the 1997 Constitution and Order 87 of the Assembly’s Standing Orders, which require the minister responsible for finance to table the government’s spending and revenue plans before lawmakers at the end of each year.
The sitting is scheduled for 10:00 am prompt, and access to the session will be strictly by invitation, the release stated.
Invitees have been reminded to adhere to the Assembly’s official dress code, traditional suit, and to maintain silence throughout proceedings, as is customary during budget sessions.
The Appropriation Bill outlines government priorities, spending commitments, and expected revenue for the coming financial year and remains one of the most anticipated events on the parliamentary calendar.
