Foundation Stone Laid for Niamina Gissadi Health Post

In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services, Dr. Amadou Lamin Samateh, the Minister of Health, laid the foundation stone for the Niamina Gissadi Health Post today. The ceremony was held on behalf of the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Dr. Adama Barrow.

The new health post in the Niamina Dankunku District is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the healthcare infrastructure across the country. This initiative underscores President Barrow’s commitment to advancing the health sector for the benefit of all Gambians.

Addressing the gathered community members and officials, Dr. Samateh emphasized the importance of accessible and quality healthcare. “This health post represents our dedication to providing essential medical services to every Gambian, regardless of their location,” he stated. “It is a crucial step towards achieving a healthier nation.”

The project is expected to bring a range of healthcare services closer to the residents of Niamina Dankunku, who previously had to travel long distances to access medical care. The new facility will include outpatient services, maternal and child health care, and basic emergency services.

Dr. Barrow’s administration has been working diligently to develop the health sector, with several projects underway to build and upgrade health facilities across the country. This initiative is seen as a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the overall well-being of its citizens.

The foundation stone laying ceremony marks the beginning of what is expected to be a transformative development for the Niamina Dankunku District. The health post is anticipated to significantly enhance the quality of life for the local population, offering them better access to healthcare and contributing to the broader goals of national development.
