Foundation Stone Laid for Grand Mosque in Kunting, Central River Region

Kunting, a community in the Central River Region of The Gambia, has embarked on a significant religious project with the laying of the foundation stone for a grand mosque. The ceremony, which was met with excitement and deep spiritual sentiment, marks the beginning of a long-anticipated project that will serve the local community and beyond.

The mosque is generously sponsored by Alhagie Basiru Jawara, a prominent businessman, whose contribution to this religious endeavor has been hailed as a great act of devotion and community service. Jawara’s philanthropic gesture is seen as a monumental step towards enhancing the spiritual and social life of Kunting’s residents, providing a dedicated space for prayer, community gatherings, and religious education.

The mosque, once completed, is expected to accommodate a large congregation and become a central hub for religious activities in the region. Community members expressed their gratitude to Haji Jawara for his unwavering support, with many seeing the project as a testament to his commitment to the well-being and spiritual growth of Kunting.

As construction begins, the people of Kunting are hopeful that this grand mosque will not only elevate their community spiritually but also strengthen unity and solidarity among its residents.

The ceremony was attended by religious leaders, local officials, and a cross-section of the community, all of whom expressed optimism about the positive impact the mosque will have on the region.

The mosque, once complete, will serve as a lasting symbol of faith, devotion, and the power of community collaboration.
