Bai Saine, a community leader and former National Assembly contestant for the Jokadou constituency, has launched a donation drive, providing clothes and wheelchairs valued at more than six hundred and fifty thousand dalasis to underprivileged communities in Jokadou. The beneficiaries include community health workers, people with disabilities, district officials, and other residents in need of support.
The initiative was made possible through the backing of Ma Ebou Cham, a Gambian philanthropist based in China. Saine noted that such efforts have been ongoing for years. “We are doing this to support the needy communities in Jokadou. We have been engaged in such initiatives for the past years, and we are grateful to Ma Ebou for the continued support,” he said.
In addition to the donations in Jokadou, Saine also provided office wire clothes worth D12,800 to the Nema Kunku and Welingara Police Stations in the Old Yundum constituency, where he now resides. This contribution, directed at both community welfare and local law enforcement, reflects his continuing involvement in community initiatives beyond his home constituency.
