DLEAG Arrests 48 in Major Anti Drug Operations Across the Country.

 

The Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG) has arrested 48 suspects in a nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking between January 12 and 26, 2026. The operations, carried out across multiple regions, led to the seizure of large quantities of prohibited substances, including cannabis sativa, cannabis resin (hashish), skunk, kush, cocaine, crack cocaine, and ecstasy pills.

The suspects, from various communities including Gunjur, Brikama, Bakau, Farafenni, Serrekunda, Banjul, and other areas, were found in possession of drugs concealed in bags, clothing, vehicles, and personal items.

DLEAG confirmed that all suspects are currently in custody, while investigations into the cases are ongoing.
