DLEAG Airport Command nabs man with a pistol

 

On Friday 23rd August 2024 around 18:00 hours GMT onwards, DLEAG operatives stationed at the Banjul International Airport took into custody one Saidou Trawally, a Gambian National holding a United States of America (USA) residential permit for possession of a pistol recovered from his luggage.

The suspect arrived onboard SN Brussels airline from the USA via Brussels. He is currently in custody while operatives complete preliminary administrative procedures before handing over to The Gambia Police Force for further investigations and necessary actions.

In a similar but separate development, DLEAG’s operatives stationed within the Greater Banjul Area apprehended five suspects for possession of varying types of prohibited and controlled drugs.

28 years old Abdoulie Khan was arrested at Bijilo on the 23rd of August 2024 around 18:12 hours GMT onwards with two (2) packets of suspected skunk, fifty-two (52) pills of suspected pills of ecstasy and one (1) stone of suspected hashish.

37 years old Sarjo Nanjo was arrested at Bakoteh Tipa Garage on the 22nd of August 2024 around 23:00 hours GMT onwards with four (4) parcels of suspected cannabis sativa.

24 years old Abdoulie Badjie was arrested at Lamin village on the 22nd of August 2024 around 06:00 hours GMT onwards with four (4) wraps of suspected kush. He was nabbed by personnel of The Gambia Police Force.

33 years old Sulayman Njie was arrested at Sanchaba on the 22nd of August 2024 around 20:15 hours GMT onwards with six (6) bags and some quantities of suspected cannabis skunk.

24 years old Bakary Jatta was arrested at Fajara on the 22nd of August 2024 around 17:30 hours GMT with nine (9) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa.

All the suspects were taken into custody while further investigations into their respective matters continued.
