The Director General of Immigration and delegation engaged local authorities in Soma and surrounding villages in a constructive dialogue on immigration regulations as part of his ongoing familiarisation tour.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Chief Jarjusey, village Alkalos, and other community leaders to express their concerns regarding GID services, particularly the issuance of ID Cards and passports. They also commended immigration officers in LRR for their steadfastness and dedication to duty.
In response, DG Mboob and his delegation conveyed the GID’s appreciation to the communities for their continued support. They emphasized the need for sustained cooperation among sister security forces, adherence to due diligence in mandate execution, and reminded local authorities of their critical role in the document processing chain.
As part of the visit, the delegation also conducted inspections at Bureng Immigration Post and Misera Border Post. These inspections provided an opportunity to assess the MIDAS installation in Misera and engage with Senegalese counterparts to strengthen integrated border management strategies.
The engagements in LRR reaffirmed the GID’s unwavering commitment to service delivery through community participation.
