CWC: 10-man Real Madrid see off Pachuca, Juve beat Wydad

Despite reducing to 10 men from the seventh minute, Real Madrid rallied to see off Mexican club CF Pachucha 3-1 at the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.

Raul Asencio saw a red card after he fouled Salomon Rondon when the veteran former West Brom striker was through on goal.

Pachuca pressed for the most parts and caused Real Madrid problems but had several chances and a penalty appeal rejected by the video assistant referee.

Jude Bellingham opened scoring for Real, Arda Guler doubled the lead and Federico Valverde stabbed home their third before Elias Montiel’s deflected effort gave Pachuca faint hope.

Real will be in the last 16 if they beat Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on Friday. Pachuca are without hopes as they are eliminated.

Earlier in the day, Juventus put up a good fight against Moroccan side Wydad AC, with the Italian side coming out tops.

Kenan Yildiz scored one of the best goals of the Fifa Club World Cup so far. The forward netted a brace and forced an own goal in the opener, to help Juve win 4-1.

The victory leaves Juventus on the brink of qualification to the knockout stages.
