Coaches Apply Theoretical Knowledge at the SESDO 2024 Playoff Match

week-long Coaches Convention training organized by the Gambia Football Coaches Association (GFCA) and the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has entered its practical phase. Coaches attending the convention are currently at Serekunda East Park, where they are undertaking practical assignments as part of their training regimen.

The practical sessions involve analyzing a live game situation in the SESDO 2024 playoff match between Latrikunda United and Kongi-Bi. The coaches have been divided into four groups, each tasked with presenting their analyses the following day.

During the match, the focus areas include attacking strategies, defensive maneuvers, and other critical aspects of both teams’ performances. By dissecting the game’s dynamics, the coaches are expected to gain invaluable insights that will enhance their coaching methodologies and improve their understanding of game management.

Agie Jallow, a senior coach participating in the convention, expressed optimism about the practical sessions. “These practical assignments allow us to apply theoretical knowledge in real game situations, which is crucial for our development as coaches,” Jallow stated.

As the training progresses, the coaches’ presentations are anticipated to reflect a comprehensive understanding of the various tactical elements observed during the playoff match. This hands-on experience is a significant step towards refining their coaching skills and contributing to the overall advancement of football in the region.
