Brikama MarKet Vendors Say Chairman Yankuba Darboe is Competent.

This morning, a productive dialogue was held at the Brikama Area Council premises, resulting in the temporary halt of the Operation Clear the Roads. Many vendors gathered at the council premises to support Chairman Yankuba Darboe, expressing their satisfaction with his leadership. “I never regretted voting for Yankuba Darboe. Since he took office, he has consistently supported the ordinary people and focused on improving their livelihoods,” stated Bana Sabally. Women vendors affected by the demolition of stalls at the ‘NANA Junction’ highway welcomed the peace talks and expressed their concerns about the damage caused by Mr. Manneh. Mba-Kaddy Korta mentioned, “Although we were given a week, we are still facing challenges in replacing our damaged tables and benches.” Jarra Samura, who travels daily from Kitty to sell at the NANA Junction, explained the difficulties she faced in rebuilding her stall and stressed the need for respect. Chairman Darboe emphasized that the council had always preferred dialogue regarding the Operation Clear the Roads, but highlighted the lack of cooperation from Mr. Manneh and his team. Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police granted the vendors a one-week period to proceed with their Tobaski sales.
