Muhammed Ndure of Brikama on Monday, 24th November, appeared before Magistrate K.B. Sambou of Brikama Magistrates’ Court on a single count of stealing, contrary to Section 226 of the Criminal Offences Act 2025.
According to the particulars of the offence, Ndure is accused of stealing an iPhone 12 Pro valued at twenty thousand dalasis (D20,000.00) from one Muhammed Nyang on 16th November 2025 in Brikama, West Coast Region. The prosecution alleged that the accused dishonestly took the mobile phone, thereby committing an offence.
When the charge was read and explained to him, Ndure pleaded not guilty.
Corporal 6397 A. Bah, representing the Inspector General of Police, applied for an adjournment to allow the prosecution time to secure its witnesses. He did not object to the accused being granted bail.
Magistrate Sambou granted the application and adjourned the case to 23rd December 2025 for the testimony of the first prosecution witness. Ndure was released on bail in the sum of D30,000 with one Gambian surety, who is required to deposit either a national ID card or passport with the court.
