Beakanyang trains URR young women on solar maintenance.

As part of the activities of its energy efficient cooking stoves and renewable energy project in URR, Beakanyang is training young women on solar maintenance.
The training is being facilitated by PESSSI Enterprise Limited.
At the orientation meeting with participants this morning, the Executive Director, Mr.Nfamara Jawneh, urged girls to take the training seriously.
“We want to empower you with knew skills so that you can support in sustaining our solar-powered welding house under construction in Taibatou and to eventually inspire you to build more interest in solar installation and maintenance,” he said.
He also thanked UNDP for supporting the training.
For his part, Mamadou Sallieu Jallow, chairman-elect of the URR Regional Youth Committee, advised participants to see this training as a stepping stone towards becoming solar experts in the future.
He thanked Beakanyang for its continued support towards youth development in the region.
Other speakers includes Mr Bubacarr Sidibeh, CEO of PESSSI and outgoing RYC chairman as well as Ms Isatou Mballow from Beakanyang Basse Office.
