Banjul’s Executive Coordinator has urged St. Mary’s LBS pupils to respect their teachers and take their education seriously.

 

While delivering his speech as a special guest at the Speech Day and graduation of St. Mary’s Lower Basic School in Half-Die, Banjul, on Wednesday the 9th July 2025 , the Executive Coordinator of Banjul, Honourable Ebrima Jawo, gives words of encouragement to the pupils to take Good care of their education and respect their teachers.

He further emphasised the discovery of new knowledge that goes beyond the classroom and the need to learn in a safe environment.

Honourable Jawo also spoke at length about the history of Half-Die, dating back to 1958, serving not only the people of Half-Die but the whole of Banjul.

The Headteacher of the School, Mrs Mariama Cham gave highlighted the achievements registered by the school since last year. She calls on the community of Banjul. Stakeholders and well-wishers are to support the school with the renovation and maintenance of some of the facilities within the school. Mrs Cham thanked the Muslim Dara section of the school for all the support accorded to the school administration.

Among those present at the event were a representative of the Gambia Ports Authority, Cluster Monitor representatives from Waa Half-Die, Waa Malfa ex-pupils Association, other school heads from Banjul, parents and well-wishers
