Banjulinding Village Triumphs Over Kerewan in Late Lamin Sanyang Busumbala District Tournament

The Late Lamin Sanyang Busumbala District Tournament witnessed a thrilling encounter between Banjulinding Village and Kerewan Village.

The first half was tightly contested, with both sides creating chances but failing to find the back of the net. Light rain briefly disrupted play, but the match continued as scheduled. The opening 45 minutes ended goalless, setting up a tense second half.

Both teams resumed strongly after the break, pressing for a breakthrough, but neither managed to score, leaving the game level at full time.

The winner was decided through a post-match penalty shootout, where Banjulinding Village held their nerve to secure a 4-3 victory.

As champions, Banjulinding walked away with a cash prize of D15,000, while runners-up Kerewan received D10,000.

This tournament is the first of its kind since the separation of Kombo North into three districts, marking a historic moment for Busumbala District football.
