Akin-Alamu emerges ADC candidate for Ibadan North by-election

Dr. Dexter Akin-Alamu on Saturday emerged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the August 16 by-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

Akin-Alamu emerged unopposed following the withdrawal of his rival aspirant, Mrs. Olaide Aderinto, during the party’s primary held at the ADC Secretariat in Mokola, Ibadan.

The primary election was supervised by Mr. Emeka Igwu from ADC National headquarters in Abuja, and observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials led by Mr. Omishile Kehinde.

The delegates unanimously endorsed Akin-Alamu as their preferred candidate through voice vote after Aderinto announced her withdrawal from the race.

In his acceptance speech, Akin-Alamu commended Aderinto’s sacrifice and assured party members of total commitment to ADC victory in the forthcoming election.
