On Sunday, July 14th, 2024, Jog-On Lioness FC of Bakau secured their spot in the GFF National League Division Two after defeating Cobblers FC in a hard-fought match at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum. Jog-On Lioness FC won the game 2-3 on penalties, with goalkeeper Mariama Jaiteh making heroic saves to secure the victory. The match saw Cobblers FC take the lead in the 7th minute with a goal from Mariama Sanneh. However, Muminatou Barry equalized for Jog-On Lioness FC just 10 minutes later. Despite numerous chances, the second half ended goalless. With this victory, Jog-On Lioness FC claimed the final qualification spot for the national Second Division League women’s competition. Young Icons FC of Farafenni had previously secured their place as the only regional champion from the provinces.
