New Electricity PolesTo Light Up Niamina West: A Long-Awaited Development

Niamina West is finally seeing the light after many years of darkness. The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) has started installing new electricity poles in Niaminawest, bringing much-needed power to the villagers. This initiative has been met with widespread joy and optimism among the local residents, who have long awaited such a initiative

For the first time in history, Niamina West is on the path to electrification. The installation of electricity poles marks a significant milestone for the community, promising to transform the daily lives of its inhabitants. This development is particularly crucial for a region that has been deprived of basic infrastructure for decades.

The sentiment among the villagers is overwhelmingly positive. Many see this as a turning point for Niamina West. Speaking to New Global Media, youth leader Alasssan Jallow, who once served as the Councillor of Niamina West, expressed strong support for the initiative. “It is long overdue,” Jallow lamented. “The people of Niamina have consistently supported every government, from Sir Dawda to Yahya Jammeh and now Adama Barrow, but we have still been lacking in many areas of development.”

The introduction of electricity is expected to bring numerous benefits to Niamina West. It will improve the quality of life by enabling better access to information, healthcare, and education. Businesses and local enterprises will also thrive with reliable power, fostering economic growth and creating job opportunities.

Despite this positive development, Jallow emphasized that much more needs to be done. He called for better representation of Niamina West in the national assembly, highlighting the community’s ongoing struggle for adequate infrastructure and services. “We have been crying for national assembly members to provide better representation,” he stated, underscoring the need for continued advocacy and support for Niamina west.

The installation of new electricity poles in Niamina West is a beacon of hope for its residents. While this initiative is a significant step forward, it also serves as a reminder of the long journey ahead in achieving comprehensive development for the area. The positive sentiment expressed by community leaders and villagers alike reflects a collective desire for progress and a brighter future for Niamina West.
