On June 23, 2024, the fifth session of the Student Cohort Training came alive with dynamic energy and insightful discussions. This session, organized by the Youth Movement for Civic Engagement (YMCE), focused on the critical functions of local government and the vital role of environmental cleanliness, making it an electrifying event for all involved.
Ansumana Ceesay set the stage with a compelling presentation on the responsibilities of local government, specifically the role of Area Councils. His engaging and informative talk shed light on the significant impact effective local governance can have on communities, sparking interest and curiosity among the students.
Following Ceesay’s presentation, Uncle Unusa captivated the audience with a riveting talk on the urgency of keeping our environment clean. His passionate plea for environmental stewardship resonated deeply, emphasizing the interconnectedness of public health, community well-being, and sustainable practices. The students were inspired to think critically about their roles in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
