Foreign Affairs Ministry investigatives allegedly domestic violence in Gambian mission in Moscow

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Gambians Abroad has launched an investigation into allegations of abuse involving domestic staff at the Gambian Embassy in Moscow. The probe follows reports that emerged on social media.

In a statement released Friday, the ministry affirmed that it “treats allegations of misconduct involving diplomatic personnel with the utmost seriousness” and pledged that appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about the treatment of local employees at foreign missions, where accountability is often complicated by diplomatic immunity.

Observers note that the ministry’s swift response is intended to reassure both domestic and international audiences of its commitment to transparency and accountability in diplomatic affairs.
