UNITE has successfully concluded its Regional Congress, gathering delegates from all corners of the country who have come together to elect their regional representatives. This event, which spanned two days, showcased the strong commitment of our movement to democracy, transparency, and internal governance, thanks to the active participation of grassroots members in all regions. We are proud to see UNITE grow and solidify its presence in every community across The Gambia. The delegates exercised their rights freely and chose leaders who will represent them at the upcoming UNITE National Congress. The regional executive positions were all successfully contested and filled by delegates from the entire country. It is worth mentioning that a significant number of women took part in these elections and were elected to various executive positions, highlighting our dedication to gender inclusivity and recognizing the crucial role women play in shaping our nation’s future. The elections were conducted with unity, transparency, and democratic participation as guiding principles. We commend all delegates, candidates, and election officials for their conduct and commitment to strengthening UNITE from the ground up. This weekend has given us great hope for the future as we gear up for the upcoming National Congress, which will prepare us for the work ahead. The newly elected regional executives will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of UNITE and making sure that the voices of their communities are heard at the national level. We are excited to see what they will achieve as we move forward together.
