Gambia claim brilliant Bronze in Women’s 4x100m Relay at Islamic Solidarity Games

 

The Gambia’s women’s 4x100m relay team delivered a composed and determined performance to secure a Bronze medal at the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Mariama Camara, popularly known as Sibo, exploded out of the blocks to give Team Gambia a strong start.

Nyimasatou Jawneh maintained the rhythm on the back straight with a smooth second-leg run, before Jalika Banjika executed a clean third-leg carry to keep the team firmly in medal contention.

Anchor Isatou Sey powered home in the final stretch, holding off late pressure to seal third place with an impressive time of 45.05 seconds. Nigeria claimed Gold in 44.27, while Bahrain secured Silver in 44.47.
