Father Gough and Box Bi Advance to MSA Knockout Quarterfinals

By: Kemo Kanyi

Father Gough FA and Box Bi FC have booked their spots in the quarterfinals of the Manjai Sports Association (MSA) Knockout Cup following impressive victories in the round of 16.

Father Gough overcame Brusubi Phase II with a 2-0 win, thanks to a brace from Lamin Touray, who proved decisive in securing the academy boys’ progression. The result was particularly notable as Brusubi Phase II had gone undefeated in their last four Nawettan matches and had not conceded a single goal during that run. The victory positions Father Gough as a strong contender in the knockout competition.

Meanwhile, Box Bi FC edged past an already relegated Zamzam FC, winning 1-0 courtesy of Pa Kebba Touray’s solitary goal. The win not only secured Box Bi’s place in the quarterfinals but also gave them bragging rights in the Bakoteh derby.

Elsewhere, Johannes FC and Ballack FC also advanced following tight penalty shootout victories. Johannes FC defeated Bufa FC 2-1 on penalties, while Ballack FC edged Golden Hands 4-3 in a dramatic shootout, completing the line-up for the last eight of the competition.

The quarterfinal fixtures are expected to produce exciting encounters as the clubs vie for a place in the semifinals and ultimately aim to lift the prestigious MSA Knockout Cup.
