Uprising Stars Top Group E, Lemon Tree Qualify with Last-Minute Equalizer

The final matches of the Manjai Sports Association Qcell-sponsored League Cup group stages ended with mixed emotions for the teams and their supporters.

In the early kickoff, Kerr Serign FA and Uprising Stars FC played to a goalless draw, leaving both sides sharing the points. The later match between Lemon Tree and Box Bi proved more dramatic, delivering the excitement the crowd had anticipated.

Ablie Ndure’s last-minute goal rescued Lemon Tree, securing a 1-1 draw and ensuring their place in the round of 16. Kerr Serign FA, despite finishing with the same points as Lemon Tree, missed out due to head-to-head results.

Fresh from the qualifiers, Uprising Stars FC topped Group E with five points, followed by Lemon Tree on four points. Kerr Serign FA also ended with four points, while Box Bi finished with two points, narrowly avoiding relegation.

With the group stages concluded, Uprising Stars and Lemon Tree advance to the knockout rounds, while Kerr Serign FA and Box Bi face an early exit from the tournament.
