During the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG) held on Saturday at the NaNA Conference Hall, President Omar Jarju reflected on the milestones achieved under his leadership since assuming office.
The AGM provided a platform for members to review executive reports, discuss progress and challenges facing the association, and promote accountability while keeping members informed of ongoing operations.
Addressing attendees, Jarju highlighted the strides the association has made in supporting its membership across various categories.
“I am proud to reflect on the achievements of our executive since taking over the mantle of leadership one year ago. It has been an incredible journey. From capacity-building initiatives to strategic partnerships, we have made significant progress in elevating the standard of sports journalism in The Gambia. But our success would not have been possible without the support of my fellow executive members,” Jarju said.
He further emphasized that the association has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for its members and to strengthen the role of sports journalism nationwide. “I promise to continue working hard for the betterment of our association and its members,” he added.
The AGM underscored SJAG’s ongoing commitment to fostering professional development, enhancing networking opportunities, and advocating for the growth of sports journalism in the country.
