Brusubi Phase II edged past ECOWAS FC 1-0 in a closely contested match in the ongoing Manjai Sports Association (MSA) summer Nawettan on Tuesday.
The decisive moment came in the second half when Kebba Sanyang rose to head home the only goal of the game. ECOWAS FC were reduced to 10 men following a player’s dismissal for a bookable offence, which further tilted the contest in Brusubi Phase II’s favour.
The win lifts Brusubi Phase II to the top of Group F with four points, while ECOWAS FC drops to second place with three points. BUFA FC has one point, and Dahaba FC has yet to earn any points.
In other Tuesday fixtures at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda, Lemon Tree secured a 1-0 victory over Kerr Serign Football Academy. Meanwhile, Bakoteh United Football Academy delivered a commanding 3-0 triumph over Dahaba FC. First-half goals from Tijan Colley and Salieu Goode set the tone, and Modou Badjie later converted a penalty to seal the emphatic win.
On Wednesday evening, Uprising Stars and Box Bi FC played out a goalless 0-0 draw in another hard-fought encounter.
