By: Kemo Kanyi

As the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Summer Nawettan continues to thrill fans, Gidda Kabilo, Puntalana FC, and Jaliba United secured emphatic victories in their respective matches.

In Friday’s afternoon fixture, Gidda Kabilo cruised to a dominant 3-0 win over Dangam FC in their second match of the tournament. Ousman Drammeh netted a brilliant brace, while Babucarr Sanneh added a third, capping off an impressive display that earned him the Man of the Match award. With this result, Gidda Kabilo has now won both of their opening fixtures. Dangam FC, on the other hand, remain winless with just one point from two games.

Later in the evening, Puntalana FC bounced back from an opening loss with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Nema United.

Substitute Omar Jallow made an instant impact, providing a pinpoint cross that Bakary Jack Njie headed home to open the scoring. Jallow then doubled the lead in the 79th minute before Njie sealed the victory with a stunning free kick. The win gives Puntalana their first points of the tournament, while Nema United began their campaign with a defeat.

Saturday’s action saw Jaliba United defeat Sinchu Jola Kunda 2-0. Creative midfielder Saidou Jabbie opened the scoring for the “Kora Boys” in the 24th minute and later set up Assan Jarju for the second goal in the 81st minute. With this win, Jaliba United maintains a perfect record from their two opening matches.

In the Saturday evening fixture, Diamond Boys and Benz & BMA played out a goalless draw in a highly entertaining contest at the Brikama Boxba Mini Stadium.
