Captain Alhagie Ndogo Unveils Homegrown Fire Fighting Robot in Gambia

 

Captain Alhagie Ndogo of the One Infantry Battalion has unveiled a groundbreaking Fire Fighting Robot, developed entirely by the Gambian armed forces.

The robot, blending advanced technology with critical safety functions, was officially launched on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the One Infantry Battalion’s base in Yundum Barracks.

The fire fighting locally made robot named after the late Col Abdoulie Mboob it is said to be capable of collecting information and conduct surveillance.

This milestone highlights The Gambia’s growing expertise in robotics and technological innovation, with the initiative setting a new standard for future advancements in the country.

The project not only underscores the ingenuity of the nation’s engineers but also opens the door for robotics to play an increasingly important role across various sectors
