Minister Sillah calls for collective action to protect marine resources

Honorable Ebrima Sillah Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure on Wednesday 19 February called stakeholders attending the 4th International BlueEconomy Summit to protect marine resources at the opening ceremony of a three day conference at Sir Dawda Kairaba Conference Center.

Minister Sillah said marine resources are faced with threats ranging from piracy and illegal fishing to the impacts of dumping toxic waste in our waters.

“I urge all of us here:the policy makers, the academia and other critical stakeholders to surmount the shores of possibility to build the Africa Blue Economy Alliance and to say that yes: we are ready for this and yes we can do it”.
