Agric Students at the Gambia College on Food Processing Training

25 students of The Gambia College School of Agriculture are currently undergoing a six day intensive training on Food Processing, Preservation, Packaging and Labeling.

This training is a fulfillment of a promise by the Trainer Abdou S. Bojang during their last School of Agriculture Students Association (SASA) day, that he will offer free training to 25 students.

With support from the leadership of the School of Agriculture, SASA is able to facilitate the training which is currently underway at the Brikama Campus starting from Wednesday 28 January 2025. When the training is completed, the 25 participants are also expected to conduct step down training to transfer the skills and knowledge to more students

At the opening of the training, Mr. Adama Touray, Principal Lecturer at the School of Agriculture who spoke on behalf of the Head of School, described the event as a great opportunity for the students as it will not only give them processing skills but will prepare them to become entrepreneurs who can stand on their own after completing their study at The Gambia College. Mr. Touray urged them to be very serious with the training as it is the first but will certainly not be the last batch.
